Persian rugs for offices: how to choose one that works at work

Start with the room, not the pattern. The right Persian rug, runner, or wool carpet defines a zone, softens the feel of the workspace, and makes an office more human without getting in the way of how people move.

Choose the rug shape by the office zone

A runner is the natural choice for a corridor, reception approach, or the open strip beside a row of desks. A larger rectangular rug works best when it can visually hold a complete seating group, shared workspace, or meeting table. Measure the usable floor area and compare it with the exact dimensions on each Qali product page.

Plan around doors, chairs, and walking paths

Check door clearance and keep the rug flat where people change direction. Around desks and meeting tables, allow space for chairs to move without repeatedly catching an edge. In lounge areas, placing at least the front legs of sofas and chairs on the rug makes separate pieces of furniture read as one deliberate zone.

Wool and pile matter in high-traffic rooms

Handwoven wool is resilient and naturally hides minor day-to-day variation better than a perfectly uniform surface. A low, dense pile is especially practical in hallways and shared workspaces. Every Qali carpet is non-slip and comfortable with shoes on or shoes off. Product pages list material, knot density, pile, and weaving time so buyers can compare construction, not just colour.

Verify what makes the rug one of one

A true handwoven rug is not a repeated stock design. Look for clear full-rug photography, close-up detail, a stated weaving origin, and exact measurements. Every rug Qali lists has its own photos and specifications; when that individual piece sells, it is marked sold rather than silently replaced by a duplicate.

Keep office rug care simple

Vacuum gently, rotate the rug periodically so traffic and daylight are distributed more evenly, and address spills promptly. For a deeper clean, use a professional who has experience with hand-knotted wool and natural dyes.
